I'm Shan Buckley — the voice behind Revealing Ruth. I write at the intersection of faith, womanhood, and real life - drawing from Scripture to speak to the modern woman navigating purpose, identity, and calling.
Passionate about faith, self-acceptance & leading with intention, Revealing Ruth was born out of my deep love for the book of Ruth and a conviction that its timeless story still speaks directly to women today — women who are loyal, wiser than they know, stronger than they realize, and quietly doing the work of building something meaningful. Intrigued by all the ways that modern Christians commandeer space in the world, I am relentlessly inspired by the way in which one of the Bible's shortest books so profoundly influences the journey of womanhood.
The path to this particular fork in the road has not been a straight one. By day, I work as a Grants Manager and Non-Profit Consultant, helping organizations clarify their mission and amplify their impact. By calling, I write — because I believe words have the power to shift perspective, stir faith, and remind us who we are.

Faith
Every piece of writing - from books to blog posts and even grants, is rooted in the belief that God's Word is alive and active. His promises are true. His mercies are new every single day, and His grace meets us exactly where we are.
Community
We were never meant to do life alone. Revealing Ruth is a space where women can better understand their faith, themselves, and each other.
Authenticity
Real stories. Real questions. Real biblical principles applied to everyday life. We are all on this journey together. I write from lived experience, not from a place of having it all figured out.
Why Ruth?
Heralded as the "Bible's Greatest Love Story", the Book of Ruth is among the most influential and profound books of the Bible. Quietly powerful, it reads like a simple tale of loss, loyalty, kindness, and love—but nothing of the Bible is without its own beautiful complexity. These four chapters give hope to every reader; highlighting the importance of family and revealing the depth of God's powerful love for His people.
Ruth shows us what's possible with faith as our foundation; reminding us that the opinions of others cannot limit God's design. Our past does not define us, and no one can place any limitation on our lives that we have not first imposed upon ourself.
It shows us that even a Moabite woman - widowed, displaced, and with no family of historic note, can forever change the course of history. Her quiet faithfulness reshapes generations, giving birth to the man (Obed), who would father a man (Jesse), whose son (David) would be the only person referred to in the scriptures as one "after God's own heart".
Oh, that we might all find ourselves to be one after God's heart - faithful in our walk, trusting that at every step, the Lord will raise the ground to meet our feet.
